Great winter coat

Great Puffer

Because there is a lot of things about sizing- let's start here. Me: 5'2" 110, 34a, 28 waist 36 hip. Fit. Size ordered SMALL - It's slightly over sized so I can wear a thick sweater under it or a thinner blazer. This is important- not everyone is running around in a tee shirt and jeans. I will wear this with a cashmere sweater, jeans, skirts and dresses. The length is great. Coat measurements: It is a lot of coat so here's the *approximate* measurements of the Small: top seam of arm to sleeve: 24" / shoulder to shoulder seam: 18" / Neck to hem (not including collar) 45". These are with the down gently compressed prior to measure. Colorways: I bought both colors- and well the black really is overwhelming and solid tire like. But...the taupe(!) is surprisingly lux color- not drab...it just looked more expensive to me. Because I wear a lot of black it has a beautiful contrast. The black was packed up for return faster than I could say "spare". (see what i did there... keep reading) The good: Decent quality- I might have ordered differently if it was going to be a daily coat. For me- I'll be getting some wear out of this traveling to colder climates and around town with fewer layers under. I'm gentle with my clothing and I expect this to be around a good while. The 2-way zipper works far better than my Filson! The hand warmers cozy. The not so good: The pockets are just too dang small. The outsides won't hold a knit hat and the inside is not very useful size, either. I would rather have an open pocket on each side inside one than that zipper one that won't even hold my keys. The hood could be improved. Reverse the velcro(hello design team) to close it tighter while it's on. Or add a pull on the back for us smaller peeps. I doubt I'll be using the hood unless I'm going to freezing temps. My coat had a little oil stain on the inside of the jacket. Not visible - but worth mentioning. The delivery is a little slow. Overall, great choice for me and I hope this was helpful.
